Did this one awhile back, but looking at it now I see lots of things I could have done better. Overall I think it's too busy, but there are some redeeming qualities about it too....I hope

I did this card art a while ago for Magic: The Gatherings recently released set, Shadowmoor. Was real glad I could be a part of this set, as the world they created was really fun and had links to alot of older illustrators I loved such as Arthur Rackham, and Brian Froud.

This was originally done for a client, but I made this secondary version for myself. In the original the illustration followed the story much more accurately but since I was going to do one for myself I took many liberties. Kind of cute though, isn't he?

An illustration done for Orson Scott Card's Intergalactic Medicine Show online mag, Issue 8, April 2008.
The story I did the image for was John Brown's , "From the Clay of His Heart", where a red, clay, golem is a main character. I started with an oil sketch, and did the rest digitally. Was trying new techniques, but ultimately I think 70% of this piece is digital now.
